Rocky Road To Wembley
Spurs won 1-0 in the first leg of their 1987 League Cup semi-final at Highbury and with Arsenal winning 2-1 at White Hart lane the sides had to toss a coin for the replay venue.
The first toss saw the coin stick upright in the mud. Spurs won the second toss and unsurprisingly chose to play the game at White Hart Lane. Clive Allen scored for Spurs but with eight minutes left Ian Allinson claimed a close-range equaliser.
With time running out, a shot from Allinson rebounded into David Rocastle’s path, who ran on to stroke Arsenal’s winner past Ray Clemence to send the away fans delirious.
