Bunn’s Half Dozen
After the excitement of beating Chelsea in the previous round, Scarborough were brought thudding back down to earth in sensational style in the third round.
The game will be memorable not only for the size of Oldham’s winning margin but also the scoring record set by Frankie Bunn, who netted a double hat-trick, a feat which remains a record in the competition.
Oldham went on to reach the final, losing 1-0 to Nottingham Forest. Bunn retired in 1990 through injury and is now coach at Coventry.
